Sometimes painful situations turn even more painful due to financial consequences.
It was the early 2010’s and my brother, wife and I where on our way to a wedding in Pennsylvania from New Jersey.
Good old New Jersey Turnpike is stop and go and I’m sitting in my 2007 Chevy HHR dressed like a Disney character (think traditional Indian outfit).
All of a sudden a driver rear ends me, my car goes into the car in front of mine and so on. Five cars are involved and everyone is pissed. The State Troopers arrive and due to the lack of serious damage to my vehicle, they troopers decline to file a report and go on their merry way.
I was pissed. My car had what I thought was more than the threshold amount of damage and troopers refused to help. The driver responsible left the scene and I was late to the wedding. My brother and wife where OK, but I had some neck pain which I still suffer from to this day.
